It's time to register for State taxes. Doing so will tell the State more about you as an employer of one or more domestic workers and determine the taxes and employer contributions you're responsible for. This registration does not mean you are a registered as a business for tax purposes in New Jersey: you will be registered as an employer of domestic workers.
As an employer of domestic or household workers, you are required to report, contribute to, and pay out, as applicable:
- Unemployment insurance
- Workforce and Temporary Disability insurance
- Family Leave insurance
- Gross Income Tax withholding
